Patience has more than 20 years in debt and equity investing and has made ground-breaking contributions to the development of gender-focused investing.
She is widely recognized for driving innovation and building sustainable global investment programs including the creation of the Banking on Women platform at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and leading the fixed income business with a current portfolio of $3BN+. Her achievements in gender focused investing include co-developing the first ever Gender Bond issued on the Uridashi market and co-developing the $600 million Women Entrepreneurs Opportunity Fund.
Patience has dedicated her career to finding ways to use the levers of finance to create a more equal world. A seasoned investor, she has worked alongside investment leaders across the globe to catalyze investment in undercapitalized communities in ways that recognize all people as essential drivers of our global economy.
In 2018, she founded Women of the World Endowment focused on centralizing women as economic, environmental, and social changemakers while delivering market-rate, risk adjusted returns and impact at scale.
She recently co-authored The XX Edge: Unlocking Higher Returns and Lower Risk, where she makes the business case for a new paradigm of gender-focused investing where more women are placed in decision-making roles and able to optimize their skills across all capital markets—leading to higher returns for individual investors and greater economic growth.
Patience serves on the Boards of MIO Partners and Intelligent Medicine Acquisition Corp (Nasdaq: IQMDU). She is a member of Apollo Global Management, Inc.’s Impact Advisory Committee; serves on the Investment Committee of Align Impact; is an investor in Purple Arch Ventures; She serves on several advisory committees including, As You Sow’s Prison Free Funds and Racial Justice Initiative as well as Emerging Sun LLC, a company she co-founded in 2005. Patience holds a JD from the Pritzker School of Law and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University.
