Patience Marime-Ball is a seasoned investor who is widely recognized for using the levers of finance to innovate pathways for creating a more equal world. She has worked alongside investment leaders across the globe to catalyze investments in ways that recognize all people as essential drivers of
our global economy.

Patience has more than two and half decades of investment experience across capital markets – including debt and equity financing, large scale infrastructure, distressed assets, as well as venture stage opportunities. Patience has led many “firsts” in the investing space; she developed the multi-billion-dollar Banking on Women platform at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and was responsible for co-designing IFC’s multi-billion-dollar Global Trade Liquidity Program, as well as the first-ever gender bond issued on the Uridashi market.

In 2018, she founded Women of the World Endowment, an investment nonprofit focused on centralizing women as economic, environmental, and social changemakers while delivering market-rate, risk adjusted returns and impact at scale.

She recently co-authored The XX Edge: Unlocking Higher Returns and Lower Risk where she makes the
business case for a new paradigm of gender diverse investing where more women have greater
decision-making roles and optimize their skills across capital markets—leading to higher returns for
individual investors and more inclusive economic growth.

Patience serves on the Board of MIO Partners. She is a member of Apollo Global Management, Inc.’s Impact Fund Advisory Committee. She serves on several advisory committees including, As You Sow’s Prison Free Funds and Racial Justice Initiative as well as Emerging Sun LLC, a company she co-founded in 2005. Patience holds a JD from the Pritzker School of Law and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern University.
